Providing timely topics of interest, the conference is designed to share and update information from all facets of the transportation safety community. The program features breakout sessions on injury control, law enforcement, roadway safety and youth issues. Confirmed session topics include: autonomous vehicles, pedestrian and bicycle safety, officer safety and distracted driving.
2nd Annual Kansas Drugged Driving Summit
The second annual Kansas Drugged Driving Summit is on Monday, April 16. It will cover DUID detection, arrest, and prosecution issues in Kansas; problems experienced by other states with legalization of medical and recreational marijuana; the persistent problem of illegal drugs and legal prescription drugs being involved in Kansas crashes; legislative challenges experienced by other states; prevention tactics for DUID; Kansas statistics on drug related crashes; and DUID – problems on the horizon.
KDOT is offering a hotel reimbursement to attendees who will be traveling in on Sunday to attend the summit. One hotel room night (Sunday only) will be reimbursed to the attendee after the event. You must be more than 60 miles out from the Capitol Plaza Hotel to qualify for the reimbursement. Forms will be available when you pick up your certificate at the end of the training.
