SAFE (Seatbelts Are For Everyone) is a free, student-led program for high school students focusing on peer-to-peer promotion of traffic safety. Through education, rewards, and enforcement, SAFE highlights the importance of wearing a seatbelt, staying focused and aware of your surroundings while driving, and following traffic laws with the goal of decreasing the number of teen injuries and deaths from vehicle crashes.

Students who are in their senior year at a Kansas high school may sign up to compete in SAFE Speaks on October 7-8, 2026.
