The Statewide First Responder Liaison helps develop relationships and collaboration between emergency medical services, the health care community and the Kansas Department of Transportation with the goal of improving post-crash care and survival rates in traffic crashes in Kansas, especially in rural areas. Post-crash care is a priority under the Safe System Approach, which includes expedient access to emergency medical care while creating a safe working environment for first responders and preventing secondary crashes through traffic incident management practices.
