The Art Of Safety Contest

Contest Rules

“The Art of Safety” is a photography contest sponsored by the Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office.

The contest is free and open to the public. There will be separate categories for adult contestants (18 and over) and youth contestants (17 and under).

To enter, contestants will submit a traffic safety-themed photograph focused on occupant protection they took in the state of Kansas. Images should show safe driving behaviors, technology, signage, etc. Contestants may enter a maximum of 3 photographs. KTSRO reserves the right to disqualify any images that are inappropriate or that do not conform to the theme of traffic safety.

Images must be submitted via the KTSRO website. Contestants are required to give their name, email address, and location of where the photo was taken. They will also have the option to give additional details about their photograph.

Photographs submitted must be at least 300 pixels in height and width. The use of filters and other photo-altering tools is permitted.

Submissions will be accepted Feb. 1 – Feb. 28, 2022. Photos will be posted on Drive Safe Kansas’ Facebook page on March 2, 2022. The public may vote for as many submissions as they wish (one vote per photograph) from March 2 – March 17, 2022. The photograph with the most votes in each category at the end of that period will win $200. Additionally, the photograph chosen by an independent judge to have the most artistic merit in each category will win $200. The winners will be announced March 18, 2022.

Contestants do not need to have a Facebook account to enter this contest.

Contestants must observe all traffic laws while taking photographs.

Employees of KTSRO and KDOT are not eligible to enter this contest.

KTSRO reserves the right to use and/or alter all submitted photographs in future traffic safety messaging.
